Now granted we dont exactly have the full menu of the ponderosa steakhouse racial buffet. But do you think that we've come far as a society? Yes or No

That's quite difficult to gauge...In terms of science and technology we've done SOO much just in the past century. In terms of politics I think we're a bit lacking, what with our vague corruption of democracy. I'm trying to be the least cynical as I possibly can be with this, but I personally just don't feel that we're really doing so great. My big problem is that we've sacrificed personal happiness for other things. We need to impress others with our possessions and appearence and accomplishments, but we've sacrificed our own self worth to do it. But, sure, by everyone ELSE's standards, we're pretty good. (and by ELSE, I mean anyone NOT living in another country. I don't think they like us much)

I have to admit we have come a far way, but in certain ways a little too far. If you just look at the 60's until now we can't complain when it comes to race and how equal we have things, but it is becoming off balance again.

Before we know it a white male is going to have less rights than a woman, black, Hispanic, Asian or an animal. I am not racist at all and believe everybody should be treated the same, and fair. Sometimes I think things are getting thrown out of whack.

As for our government I think we are not progressing at all. Shying away from the constitution, the government is getting bigger, and they do more things now that we don't know about than ever before. I say we bring back the muskets and pitch forks.
